Another issue that OLEDs can have is due to its own emissive nature. As OLEDs have the ability to radiate light and heat, it can be a problem if the OLED display is exposed to the sunlight. But again, the technology industry is working to figure out ways to make it better.

OLED vs LCD: Brightness
Both screen types are very bright and can project pictures in a sunny room. Light output or brightness plays a crucial part in HDR (High Dynamic Range). But when it comes to – which one is a better option, LCD TVs will dominate the OLED TVs in this category, thanks to LCD’s backlight function.
As OLED screens technology of the TV can manipulate each pixel, it can easily turn off the pixels and produce a complete black level. The darker the level the better the picture quality.
LCDs technology cannot operate on a pixel-by-pixel basis and so, it cannot truly project the black level in your screen, hence darker tone will not be achieved fully. However, it is just a comparison of which display is better. LCDs do feature black level but not completely.

Each pixel in the OLED display is independent and has its own background light, this quality helps the screen to give out light, color, brightness, contrast independently. This means the contrast ratio will be much higher. Higher the contrast ratio – a more realistic picture you will be able to see.
A high refresh rate will reduce a motion blur plus will operate smoothly and much faster. The recent version of OLED has a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Cheaper versions of LCDs have a 60Hz refresh rate. Surely, 60Hz is will not give motion lag issue, but if you are more into gaming or watching sports, OLED TVs will provide a much better experience.
One of the biggest weaknesses of LCD is that – the color and overall picture quality changes if you sit away from the center. This issue cannot be seen on an OLED TV. You can walk to the side and away from the center but the contrast, color, and overall picture quality will not change. Some more expensive LCD have something called Ultra viewing angle technology. This is supposed to help with this problems LCDs have with sitting of center, but it cannot compete with OLED in this regard.
There are a number of factors that could affect energy consumption. For example, higher brightness on the TV screen will consume more energy. OLED has a much more contrast ratio in comparison to LCD TV, so OLED will consume more energy.
The life span of LCD is reported to be – 30,000 to 60,000 hours.
The life span of OLED is reported to be – 40,000 hours (25% brightness) and 10,000 hours (100% brightness)
LCD TVs are a clear winner in this category. LCD TVs are available in different screen sizes from 32 inches to more than 86 inches. OLEDs are available in limited screen sizes – 55 inches, 65 inches. Oled does have an 88 inch, but the price of that tv is astronomical compared to the LCD biggest size.
Cost and price
You can get a 75 inch LCD TV for around $1400. OLED have 77 inch tvs for about $4000
At 65 inch sizes you can get a LCD for $1000 and the cheapest OLED will cost you $1700
